Outra vez em Macau!
Since I had more than one week to have a job interview with a company's president on July 10 and there was nothing else to do than just waiting, I set off for an important mission called "Operation Q". It was originally aimed to catch Edward Snowden in Hong Kong for a huge amount of money betted by CIA. However, the target had already left Hong Kong by the time I lounch my investigation. Therefore, my new mission is to just enjoy myself and feel confident before the job interview.
Macao is an fascinating place where two destinctive cultures blended to create "Macanese culture". But this time, my purpose is to taste more authentic Portuguese cuisine since it is very time-consuming to go to Portugal to have such dishes.
Antonio Restaurant is the best place for people who look for authenticity in their meal. If you go there for lunch in weekly days, you have a better chance to experience a true atomosphere of a typical Portuguese restaurant.

For example, you have a chance to listen to Fado, a traditional Portuguese music.
I ordered a Portuguese sausage dish called "Chouriço assado na Canoa". A waiter brought a typical Portuguese sausage in a vessel-like plate and lit it in front of the customer. Once it is cooked, the waiter cut it into pieces and serve it in a plate. It is quite entertaining.
This is a famous "Pasteis de bacalhau". It can be categorized in "croquette". The mixture is made with dried cod flake, mashed potato, onion and persley. Once it is made in shape of a small egg, the mixture is soaked in beaten egg and coated with flour. Interestingly, it is not coated with breadcrumb because the cod flake help the ingredients to stay together. There are a variety of croquettes around the world but this is my favorite.
For a main dish, I had duck rice called "Arroz de pato à Portuguesa". The way of cooking rice is different from the way we do in Japan. It is not similar to the method used in other Asian country as well. It is done in oven and therefore, the rice is harder and crispy. You can say that it is a type of "rice gratin".
