Yasu,
Feb 2 is Thursday!
I haven't booked any accommodation yet. What is your suggestion regarding our stay in Kyoto and Nara? Two days each? Anything fun in Osaka, too? Are there any famous hot spings in Kansai area?

Linda,
I was looking at a calendar of the year before. I will try to have some dayoffs from 3rd to 5th so that I can see you there.
As for accommodation, I recommend you some youth hostels as hotels are quite expensive (from 10,000yen =approx. 100US dollars).
Youth Hostels cost from 3500 yen to 4000yen). I have stayed in a hostel (separate room) in Nara. It was good enough. In Osaka there is a famous castle. I do not know any famous hotsprings in Kansai. But there should be some around there.
Please let me know your itenerary.

Got it, Yasu!
I'm reading some travel books and it seems that Kyoto and Osaka already have a lot of good places for us to visit. Therefore I don't think we'll stay in too many different points since we stay only for a few days but chose only 1-2 hotels (or hostels) to stay.
Will decide the itinerary soon!!!

Linda,
I do not have any guidebook myself. There is an easy access from the Kansai airport to/from Kyoto and Nara. There are airport bus connections to both cities which take you to the main railway stations.
You have only four days and half. Kyoto has plenty of places to visit. So, you can plan to stay two cities. If you really want to see a castle, you may go to Osaka but there is nothing else to see really compare to Kyoto.

Linda,
If you tell me a rough schedule for example
Feb 2 Arrive at Osaka (11:50am)
Stay Osaka
Feb 3-4 Kyoto
Feb 5-6 Nara
Feb 7 Leave Osaka (12:55pm)

I will also make my schedule accordingly. If you stay in Nara for a few days, I know one hostel where you can have a room for two near the center of city. I can book it for you along with my reservation.

Yasu,
We will book 2 accommodations only in Kyoto and Osaka as follows:
Feb 2 Kyoto
Feb 3 Kyoto
Feb 4 Kyoto (may visit Nara but stay in Kyoto)
Feb 5 Osaka
Feb 6 Osaka
Feb 7 Home
But we haven't decided the hotel yet, too many to choose from....
Will let you know where the hotels will be by the end of this week.

Dear Linda,
I am going to book my flight in a couple of days. I will take the earliest flight on Friday morning and return to Fukuoka with the last flight from Osaka on Saturday. So, we can meet in Kyoto for two days. I guess you need two full days to see Kyoto if you move to Osaka Sunday. And it would be wise to visit Nara on Monday if you wish because Osaka is located between Kyoto and Nara.

Please reply me soon.
Yasu
