I hope Yasu's predictions about the final won't come true, though! It's a great athmosphere here, by the way! Yasu, you can be looking forward to come to Germany. Everybody is in the Woldcup fiever and we're having a fantastic summer! And for me it's especially new to see so many German flaggs and how openly the people show some patriotism. Something we didn't grow up with at all. Although it's also a strange feeling to see and experience it now I'm pleased that we start to be a little bit more relaxed about it. As long as it's linked to football...

P.S. As Nuno is the only one who didn't wonder who's going to mary it's apparently him. When? Congratulations to you and Lu!

Julian,
I am sorry that Germany did not get to the final. But they still have a chance to get a bronze medal by winning the next match.(I hope that Portugal will not meet Germany...) I think that they played well because they beat Argentine.

On the contrary, Japan could not win any games. The Japanese Football has just got into a long tunnel. Yesterday, Nakata announced his retirement.

Portugal is resisting and fighting against Big nations. By the way, the story that I wrote is merely a fiction. Reberto Baggio will not appear but Cristiano will become a new star.

:-( Yes, it's really a pity! I think they did a really great job - although one can say that Italy deserved it. But in the 119th minute?? I watched in a big public viewing area here in Hamburg and everybody was so disappointed.

I'm sorry about Japan! But 4 years and a new coach might change a lot. 4 years ago we had an old team but I think now there is already a great potential to improve further.

Good luck for Portugal tonight!

I don't know too much about the theory of football (coz it's not a popular sport in Taiwan) but I watch the games on TV since everyone's so excited about it. I hoped that both Germany and Portugal can meet in the last game fighting for the champion (am particularly excited about it because I have German and Portuguese friends :-), but apparently, they will still meet, but for the bronze medal. Anyway, I still think both G and P did a good job.

So, Yasu, you're still in Europe?

Dear friends,

It seems it's impossible for Portugal to beat the "bleus". It's the third semi final of a great competition that we lose against them: Euro in 1984, Euro in 2000 and now. Bastards!!!!

Anyway we played quite well, were not inferior to France and were a bit unlucky this time (although we were lucky with Holland and England). We deserved to be among the 4 best teams in the planet and next Euro we want to win!!! We just need better strikers, maybe Klose is interested in becoming Portuguese :)

Congratulations to Germany!!! I personnally never thought they would get to the semi final, but they proved to have quite good players and made up a good team. Game on saturday will be interesting and hopefully a good one. I'm also happy German people feel more proud about their country, it's a great country - like my Historian sister says it's important to keep the memory of the past in order to draw up a bright future. I also want to know more about Germany!

Concerning marriage, it's true that me and Lu are planning it. It should happen next summer, I'll keep you informed. She should come to live in Belgium after this summer.

Hugs to all

Congratulations Nuno and Lu!!! I'm happy to hear your good news. You must be looking forward very much finally to live together.

It was great to have to football worldcup in Germany. Although it still was different than 4 years ago because I then had more international friends (!) to watch the matches with. And this time I had less time so I couldn't watch so many games. But for being interested in football only every 4 years my record wasn't bad at all!

By the way, I arrived yesterday 'home' in Newcastle! :-)

Hugs from the Island,
Juliane
