Chinese New Year!!!

Tomorrow (8 Feb) is Chinese New Year's Eve
Firstly, Michael, Gong Xi Fa Cai!!(Congratulations and wish you make a fortune)
For Nuno probably still in London, wish you a happy CHINESE New Year with Vivia, too.
This is the Chinese New Year I can finally spend with family after three years abroad.
I particularly cherish the time when I can bathe completely in this atmosphere and of course, the one-week holidays when I don't need to get up so early every day!!!
Just feel like saying HI to all of you, whether you're in Chinese New Year or not, I miss you much!
I will be quitting this boring and bureaucratic current job in two-month time.
Then I will restart (just still at the very preliminary stage) my PhD again
But this time in an university in Taiwan. (Cannot gather enough money back to Newcastle)
Will have to attend a competitive entrance exam before I can restart again, if I can ever pass.
Then in summer, I will go to my trip of friend-visiting in Europe and UK.
Nuno, will you still be in London in July? I really do want to realise my promise to you in Lisbon.
If not, meeting you in London will also be kind of great.
Cannot wait any longer for the day to come. Will be a very important annual plan.
(Yeah, you know, Europe's kind of far and costly, should have enough savings before I go)
Well, dear friend,
Linda wishes you all a Happy New Year of Rooster!!!
(My tandem partner Rufus once said Year of "Chicken"'s kind of weak, so we decide "Rooster" is a more powerful and masculine word!)
Talk to you later.

Hi Linda & co

For the first time this year I celebrated the chinese new year in the middle of Chinese. Me and Lu had dinner in a chinese restaurant with Lu's company collegues, and I definetly had good time. Everybody wishing happy new year to everybody else (by the way, same wishes to all of you on this Rooster year!), while drinking some 55% alcoholoic drink called Red Star (a brand created in 1949, I wonder why...) and eating dumpling, duck and, for the first time in my life, frog legs. These last ones are actually quite delicious, I'll try to eat them again in the near future! We departed from the party around 11 because Lu had her driving examination today at 8am. Incredibly she passed and has now a british driver's licence. She was really happy one she returned home at 9.30 waking me up from my lovely dreams with shouts of joy! She also said one of her chinese collegues spent the night in prision because he was caught driving drunk. I suppose it must be very common in China to get totally drunk on this day (also because people don't work the next days), but sometimes it can get you to bad situation in a place like UK.

About Linda quitting the bureau job and enrolling in the University of Taiwan, I wish the best results and hpe you fulfill your objectives.

I still don't know exactly where I will be next summer. I'm still in London waiting for slow Brussels to call me there, but I hope to be working there in June and July. The probabilities of being in Lisbon are very small, being in Brussels or London is the most likely.

Hugs for now

Frog's leg!!! I don't think I ever had this before during New Year. But I heard people said frog tastes just like chicken, does it?
What a long wait, Nuno. I think you've been talking about Brussel for more than a year. Fingers crossed for you! Wish to see you in Brussel, not London, in summer!!!

Linda,
One more thing. Flight ticket in June can be a bit expensive. Why don't you think about an option to go in autumn? I will probably go to Spain (Barcelona and Galicia)in October. If it happens, I will be in Lisbon whether or not Nuno is there. I have important matches to watch. Hasta luego,
